About Us

Joe FarrellJoe Farrell

Joe and his family moved back to Boundary County in 1996 and have enjoyed every day since. Joe is happily married to his wife Nancy (since 1980) and they had 4 children, Johanna, Amy (Left us in 2008 & is now our precious angel), Jeffrey, and Janet.

Joe has enjoyed success as a Realtor in Boundary County since 1997 and is grateful to have a job that he enjoys and meets the needs of his family. Joe has been a consistent top producer in the area and enjoys working hard for his clients. One of the best parts of his job is establishing meaningful relationships and friendships with the people he works with

Joe grew up in a real estate environment where his Mom owned and operated an office in Millbrae California. At the time Joe chose not to follow in his mother's footsteps and moved to Oregon in 1970. The time was not right for Joe to sell real estate then but is thankful for his Mom's influence. Soon thereafter his mom sold her business and moved to Sonoma County.

Joe spent many years in the nursery industry and has a love for plants and especially gardening. His knowledge is a valuable source of information to both locals and newcomers. Even though the children are gone he still grows a garden big enough to share with friends & neighbors.

Joe's personal hobbies include: gardening, fishing, hiking, hunting, & dreaming of places to travel. As a young man Joe loved to travel and his favorite was a 6 month trip to Mexico, Central America, & South America all for under $1,000. He still looks forward to any travel that may fit his schedule. In the last decade he has traveled to Hawaii, New Zealand connecting with daughter Johanna, Cancun Mexico, Guadalajara & Baja, & Cabo San Lucas with Nancy. His daughter, Johanna, was married in June 2011 to Dutch native Wijnand Rijkenberg and they now reside in the Netherlands. Next trip? Definitely Europe!

Joe works as a team with lifetime resident Darlene Schneider and together they offer the best in local real estate knowledge and service. They share common values, work ethic, and enjoy working with people. They will do all they can to help meet the needs of their clients.

Darlene SchneiderDarlene Schneider

Born and raised in beautiful Bonners Ferry, I have come to appreciate all that this small town has to offer. From a young age, my dad instilled the love of the mountains and the outdoors within me. From logging camp in the Selkirks during the summers to snowmobiling in the winters, I grew up with an extreme love of the outdoors in Boundary County. As a child I constantly fished, picked huckleberries, swam and explored the mountains with my family. As I grew older, my dad taught me how to run logging equipment and drive truck. I learned to fly at the age of 19 and received my pilot's license, adding to my enjoyment of the beauty in the area.

I married Phil Schneider in 1983. We made our home in Bonners Ferry and had four wonderful children Travis, Tom, Tana, and Trevor. As a stay-at-home mom, I helped the family business run smoothly which included logging, land development, building a log home, truck driving and teaching piano lessons. Our family thrives on hunting, fishing, flying, working, and always recreating in the remarkable outdoors of North Idaho. Our favorite family vacation was fishing in Seward, Alaska while our oldest son was working there. Our daughter now lives in Alaska and many trips and adventures take place there for our family.

Knowing the people in the county and having experience in building and land development, Joe Farrell approached me about being a realtor. An opportunity to serve the community and people here could not have come at a better time in my life. I enjoy sharing my experience and knowledge of the area with Joe's extensive real estate knowledge to better serve those looking for the perfect home or piece of property. It has been my pleasure matching properties and homes with local people and those that are new to the area. The friendships and acquaintances have been endless and fulfilling. I love being a part of a real estate team that offers the best customer service possible.

Don Kerby served as chairman of the Idaho Real Estate commission, served on the National Real Estate board, was Idaho Realtor of the year, and Bonner-Boundary county Realtor of the year. Darrell has a deep place of appreciation for real estate and has always sought to employ competent, moral, caring, & well rounded agents to continue on the legend of Pace Kerby Real Estate.

Darrell is married to his high school sweetheart Patty and they have 2 girls, Dawn & Kelly. They enjoy their grandson Kirby and are fortunate to have a close relationship with him. They spend as much time as possible on their boat in the Seattle area and have enjoyed this new chapter in life.

Pace-Kerby

Pace-Kerby & Co., Inc. has been around in one form or another since 1913.

O.C. Wilson (Pete Wilson's father) started the business known as The Wilson Agency. He was an Attorney, Abstract Agent, and Insurance Agent. In 1945, Mr. Wilson was appointed as a district judge and moved to Couer D'Alene Idaho.

It was at that time, Maurice David Pace (Bob Pace's father) purchased the abstract and insurance business from O.C. Wilson. He continued to operate the business as The Wilson Agency and later change it to The Pace Agency. The Maurice Pace family had recently been notified that Bob's plane had been shot down and that he was missing in action in WWII. The family received a letter from France postmarked April 12th 1945 from Bob, that he was indeed alive and on his way home. They received a government telegram with the same message on April 29th, 1945.

Upon Bob's release from the military and his arrival home, he married his state side nurse, Hazel Jacob of Spokane, Washington on November 19th 1945. He returned to the University of Idaho and graduated in 1947. He then joined his father as a partner. The Pace's sold the abstract business to Watt Prather and Hardy Lyons.

Don Kerby, a native of the Lewiston area married Marva McFarland of Bonners Ferry, April 14, 1940. They were farming in the Fitzpatrick District (District 15) and after flooding out in 1948, Don went into the real estate business with his father-in-law, Homer McFarland. In 1955, upon Homer McFarland's retirement, Don and Bob joined businesses forming a partnership - and we now have Pace-Kerby Real Estate and Insurance Agency.

After a successful partnership of 30 years, Don retired and sold his 1/2 of the business to his son Darrell and daughter-in-law Patty (Guthrie), both Bonners Ferry locals. In 1985 Darrell and Bob purchased The Truesdell Agency which was originally the Baxter & Monks Agency established in 1950. In 1986 they incorporated and now we have the business Pace-Kerby & Co., Inc. Bob retired in 1988 and the Kerby's are the sole owners.

Pace-Kerby & Co., Inc is a true Bonners Ferry institution. The secret to the success of all who have been a part of this business has been honesty and a true interest and love of this wonderful community.
